Uppsala Domkyrka (Cathedral) is not only the tallest church building in Sweden, but also in all of Scandinavia and Nordic countries. It really is huge!

PHOTOGRAPHY: RETURN TO THE TEMPLE OF DOOM

It has been nearly 3 months of football-less bliss (well almost), but on Sunday normal business was resumed at Loftus Road, as QPR took on Italian Serie A team Atalanta in a friendly match. I shall not bore you with the details, as the match was about as entertaining as watching paint dry (while stick pins in your eyeballs), but the Atalanta fans - who were very vocal - did at least give provide something easy on the eye. Thank god Atalanta is not in Newcastle, is all I can say... Oh, and incidentally the match ended in a 1-all draw.

Yeah right, whatever!! Sadly, blue moons are not blue and you don't do all those things that you claim to seldom do.

The city of Uppsala is about an hour north of Stockholm and has had an important role in Swedish history throughout the centuries. I had been meaning to visit it for ages, but somehow never got around to doing so. However, on this trip to Stockholm, I finally got there.

On arrival, one of the buildings that stands out is the castle (Uppsala Slott), which is situated on a hill near the city centre. It is a beautiful pink coloured building that was originally built in the mid 16th century, during the reign of Gustav Vasa. It was destroyed by fire in 1702, but was subsequently restored. Nowadays it houses the Uppsala Art Musuem.
