PHOTOGRAPHY: THAMES BARRIER

It is hard to believe that this is all that stops London from flooding. The Thames Barrier is a little out of the way, but is worth a visit. The nearest DLR station is Pontoon Dock, which is close to the Thames Barrier Park. Views from the south bank of the river are in New Charlton, which is just a tad awkward to get to by public transport.
